Rugged Data Acquisition Hardware

A Few of Our Amazing Customers

  • Designed for Environmental Extremes (-45º to 85º C | 5g Vibe | 100g Shock).
  • Chassis monitors temp, power, cards, and software for fail-safe operation.
  • Redundant Ethernet helps guarantee fail-safe operation.
  • Individual pins can be tested for short/open or against a reference.
  • Designed for MIL-STD-461/1275/704/810 compliance.

10-Yr Availability Guarantee3-Yr Hardware Warranty
UEI guarantees the availability of all chassis & I/O products for a minimum of 10 years. Unless you are specifically notified at the time of purchase, all chassis & I/O products will be available for repurchase for at least 10 years. Protecting you from obsolescence is a priority!
UEI is so confident in the dependability of our hardware that we offer standard warranty to 3 years. With a warranty return rate of less than 0.2%, it’s easy to understand why we are capable of offering such a warranty!

Two Operating ModesSimultaneous SamplingReal-Time DAQ
UEI supports two operating modes: hosted and embedded. UEI's PowerDNA® system allows you to configure one or more chassis to fit your application. UEI's Programmable Automation Controller (UEIPAC) runs the standard Linux kernel, offloading processing to our hardware.UEI has a wide assortment of analog and digital input boards for various applications, including simultaneous sampling, which helps to achieve higher throughput and better synchronization while almost completely negating any crosstalk issues seen with multiplexed inputs.
UEI offers real-time data mapping, similar to reflective memory, that allows for deterministic loop control. We offer several methods for synchronization between boards and chassis: GPS, IRIG, 1PPS, PTP and more. We also support real-time host OS, including VxWorks and QNX.

Rugged DAQ Case Studies

SpaceX Falcon 9 Launchpad Controls
UEI's distributed, rugged hardware plays a key role in SpaceX's launchpad control systems. Since 2017, SpaceX has used more than 200 UEI I/O boards in various launchpad applications, including the instrument bay and central control system for aerospace ground equipment.
US Navy LCAC SBC4 Controller
UEI's flexible, reliable, and rugged DNR-MIL I/O control chassis is used by the US Navy in conjunction with VxWorks as the Command, Control, Computers, Communication, and Navigation (C4N) SBC4 Control, Alarm, and Monitoring System (CAMS) for the Navy's LCAC fleet.
USAF UH-1N Health & Usage Monitoring
UEI's UEI-HUMS1 military-grade chassis, a modified version of the popular UEI DNR-MIL chassis, simplifies life cycle management and increases reliability. It meets MIL-STD-810 and DO-160 requirements for deployment by the Air Force on the Bell UH-1N Huey helicopter.
US Navy Rugged Sensor Interface Unit
UEI’s SIU (Sensor Interface Unit) is a COTS I/O system developed to replace the Navy’s obsolete LRU (Line-replaceable Unit). The SIU is a key component of the major electronics in the Navy’s LCAC Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) craft configuration.
Space 4.0 Launchpad Monitoring & Control
UEI has been an active participant in many of the space industry's recent historic launches, including Blue Origin's New Shepard vehicle (pictured above), SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket and Crew Dragon spacecraft, and Orbital ATK's Antares cargo rocket.
