After 30+ years of dedication, Shaun Miller has decided to announce his retirement from United Electronic Industries (UEI). Shaun’s last day at UEI will be Friday, January 12, 2024. As the founder of UEI, Shaun has built an amazing team and company that has outgrown multiple facilities (starting with the bedroom of his apartment) to become an industry leader in rugged, flexible DAQ, Test, and Control technology. He now plans to enjoy his well-earned time with family, exploring new business ventures, and sailing around the world. Please join all UEI in congratulating Shaun. We wish him the best in the next chapter of his life!
With Shaun’s departure, we welcome Andrew (Andy) Purtell as the new Division Vice President, Business Manager for UEI. In this role, Andy will be responsible for the overall business operations and its respective functional areas, as well as providing overall direction and tactical guidance in the development and execution of UEI’s strategic plans.
Since joining AMETEK in 2019, Andy has held multiple commercial leadership roles across several businesses at AMETEK including Programmable Power, VTI, IntelliPower and Power Instruments. Prior to AMETEK, Andy held multiple leadership roles at United Technologies, successfully growing the business throughout his tenure. Andy holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Fire Protection Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. In addition, he has an MBA from Kelley School of Business, Indiana University.
