Walpole, MA (July 13, 2016) - United Electronic Industries (UEI) is pleased to announce that our popular PowerDNA®Cube and avionics interfaces have been selected by ZedaSoft, Inc., a simulation and visualization software company, who will provide the US Army’s Distributed Test Control Center (DTCC) with an AH-64D Apache simulator. Having won a contract from AI Signal Research Inc. (ASRI), ZedaSoft’s simulator integrated with UEI hardware and I/O was the ideal choice to support the US Army’s various aviation and communication system testing activities.
ZedaSoft’s Reconfigurable Cockpit System (RCS) will serve as the pilot’s station, while the Reconfigurable Desktop System (RDS) will serve as the co-pilot/gunner station. ZedaSoft’s Experimenter Operator Station (EOS) will control system testing.
The RCS has been customized to an AH-64D realistic configuration which includes a wide variety of robust electronics including touch-screen multi-function displays, MetaVR’s five channel image generator, Simulation and Control Technologies’ control loading system, Bihrle Applied Research high fidelity flight model and a 120 degree horizontal and 60 degree vertical out-the-window visual display.
UEI’s has two PowerDNA (Distributed Networked Automation) Cubes installed that will act as the simulator linkage I/O and avionics interface. The cube is a 4" x 4.1" x 4" compact, rugged, Ethernet based interface with flexibility that allows the user to configure one or more cubes to match the specific I/O requirements. The Cube is ideally suited for a wide variety of aerospace, industrial, and laboratory data acquisition and control applications. With over 60 different I/O boards available, including full avionics support, UEI’s PowerDNA Cube offered the perfect configuration for this simulator application. “UEI understands our business and needs and gets us the right equipment immediately. They have been instrumental in helping us get 4 cockpit simulators together for the US Army,” said GW Estep, ZedaSoft’s President.
UEI’s PowerDNA Cube is supported by all popular Windows, Linux and Real-time operating systems. UEI framework provides a simple and universal API and supports all common programming languages. The Cube is also fully supported by an extensive array of application packages including LabVIEW, MATLAB, and more.
The simulator will be used at the US Army’s Redstone DTCC at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama. Learn more about ZedaSoft simulators and UEI hardware and I/O by watching this video.
